The Book of Boba Fett is only a few weeks away, and the folks at Lucasfilm and Disney+ have been cagey as usual about what we’ll get in the series. Today, however, we get ONE FULL MINUTE of “new” Boba Fett goodness, where we see Temuera Morrison confirm that he is, in fact, Boba Fett.

The clip is only sixty seconds long, but that’s long enough to give us some tantalizing new images. Early on in the video, we see Boba Fett in a tank of liquid with an aerator in his mouth (perhaps he’s healing from the damage from the Sarlacc pit?) and then quickly cut to him suit up with the help of a trusted droid.

A lot of the scenes in the middle we’ve seen before in the first trailer, and we also get a shot of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) sitting next to him on Jabba’s throne, which is similar to the post-credits scene in The Mandalorian season two finale. I could complain about that, but I won’t! This clip is about celebrating Boba Fett’s return to our lives, a thing absolutely worth commemorating as this year drags itself to the end.

The new images we do see appear to be from when he first got out of the infamous Sarlacc pit—in addition to seeing Boba immersed in liquid, we see him in what could be battered patient-wear. This is just speculation on our end, but it feels like this could be accurate, especially when we hear the former bounty hunter speak at the end of the teaser.

“Left for dead on the sands of Tatooine,” Morrison says at the end of the clip. “I am Boba Fett.”

He certainly is, and millions can’t wait to see more of him on screen.

The Book of Boba Fett, a Star Wars original series, premieres on Disney+ on December 29, 2021.

One nitpick: when Fett is standing at the table of bounty hunters laying down some new rules and everyone turns dramatically to look at him, Fennec should not.  She should be studying the reactions of the other crime lords.

The absolute best thing about this trailer is that they used the seismic charge sound effect as music.

I am in love.

Have they announced who is scoring it yet?

As an aside, when he said he was left for dead I couldn’t help but think of the BACK FROM THE DEAD, ASSHOLES! skit from Robot Chicken, haha.

Re: the seismic charge sound effect as music… that’s not a bad attempt, for carbon-based units. ;-)
